Former Super Eagles striker, Obafemi Martins, has thrown his support behind Seyi Tinubu’s reported interest in leading the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Martins made his position known during an interview with former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel, where he praised Tinubu’s youthfulness and understanding of the expectations of Nigerians concerning football.
According to the former Inter Milan forward, Tinubu has demonstrated a willingness to contribute to the development of Nigerian football despite not currently occupying any position at the NFF.

“Seyi Tinubu, the son of the President of Nigeria, can be the president of the NFF. He’s young and understands what Nigerians want; he is not the president yet, but he is making an effort,” Martins said.
The endorsement comes amid growing discussions about the future leadership of Nigerian football and calls for fresh ideas and stronger administration within the sport.
Martins’ comments suggest that he believes Tinubu’s age, understanding of the Nigerian football landscape and perceived efforts to improve the game could make him suitable for the NFF presidency.
The NFF presidency remains a highly influential position, with the federation responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s national teams and the broader development and administration of football in the country.
