Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has congratulated the party’s leader, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, on his recognition as Politician of the Year by Leadership Newspaper.
Obi, in a congratulatory message, described Dickson as his “dear brother and leader” and commended his years of service in Nigerian public life.
He described the former Bayelsa State governor and senator as a seasoned politician and public servant whose experience cuts across party administration, the legislature and the executive arm of government.
According to Obi, Dickson’s recognition was not only a testament to his years of service but should also spur him to greater commitment as the NDC works towards providing Nigerians with the leadership needed to move the country forward.
“I warmly congratulate my dear brother and leader of our great party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, on his recognition by Leadership Newspaper as Politician of the Year,” Obi said.

He said Dickson’s experience and record of public service would be valuable to the party as it works to build a political platform capable of delivering the leadership Nigerians deserve.
“I believe this recognition is not only a testament to his years of service but will also further spur him to greater commitment as we work together towards building a political platform capable of offering Nigerians the leadership that is needed to move the country forward,” Obi said.
The NDC presidential candidate described the award as “well-deserved” and again congratulated Dickson on the recognition.
Obi ended the message by reaffirming his optimism about the country’s future, declaring: “A new Nigeria is POssible and Nigeria will be OK.”
