Oborevwori Donates Five Operational Vehicles To Delta Correctional Service

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has donated five operational vehicles to the Delta State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service to enhance the agency’s operational capacity and strengthen security across the state.

The vehicles, popularly known as “Green Marias,” were handed over on Wednesday at the Government House in Asaba.

Represented by his deputy, Monday Onyeme, the governor said the donation underscores his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies and improving the state’s justice system.

According to him, the vehicles will boost the mobility of correctional personnel, improve their response to operational duties, and strengthen supervision and coordination within the command.

He noted that effective correctional service delivery depends largely on adequate logistics and reliable transportation, stressing that the vehicles would enhance the day-to-day activities of officers and support the efficient discharge of their responsibilities.

Oborevwori said the gesture aligns with the Enhanced Peace and Security pillar of his administration’s MORE Agenda, adding that although the Nigerian Correctional Service is a federal institution, its role remains critical to maintaining peace and public safety in Delta State.
