Ogun Assembly whip empowers 60 women traders with N50,000 cash each

…donates motorcycle to ward vice chairman

Chief Whip of the Ogun State House of Asssembly, Hon Atinuke Bello, has empowered 60 market women in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state with N50,000 cash each to boost their trading capital.

Bello, who is the first female lawmaker to represent the area in the state House of Assembly, also donated a motor bike to a loyal party member and Vice Chairman, Odogbolu Ward 5, Mr Mukaila Onafowokan, as part of her delivery of the dividends of democracy to the people of her constituency.

Other beneficiaries of the lawmaker’s largesse, which she doled out last Saturday, included Mrs Adeniyi Lateefat , Quadri Olayinka, Aderibigbe Sewa, Omosanya Bisi, Adeniyi Silifat, Atewologun Esther and Muraina Nimota, to mention a few.

The cash beneficiaries were picked from the lawmaker’s constituency, which covers the different wards in Odogbolu Local Government.

Speaking on the occasion, Hon Bello said it was not the first time since her election into the state House of Assembly that she would be doling out such benefits to members of her constituency.

She disclosed that she recently inaugurated an electrification project and a public toilet at the motor park in Odogbolu to mark her second year in office.

The Ogun Assembly chief whip also disclosed that she had so far facilitated scores of employment opportunities for the people of his constituency since her election into the state legislature.

Bello has also given scholarships and robust bursary to students in primary and secondary schools in addition to sponsoring so many students from her constituency in various higher institutions of learning.

Following her superb performances, the lawmaker has been conferred with various chieftaincy titles by different communities in her constituency, including Yeye Tewogbade of Odogbolu kingdom, Asiwaju Onigbagbo Obinrin of Odogbolu Local Government and Yeye Bobadara of Akile Ijebu–Imodi Ijasi in Ward 10 Leguru Zone of Odogbolu Local Government.

While expressing gratitude to the people of her constituency for their support, she stressed that her utmost priority was to ensure the re- election of Governor Dapo Abiodun for another term of four years.

The Ogun Assembly chief whip added that ensuring a second term for Governor Abiodun should be a collective responsibility of all the people of the state.
