Ogun: Gbenga Daniel joins senatorial race

A former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, at the weekend in Omu-Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state rallied crowds of supporters to unveil his campaign office ahead of the 2023 senatorial race.

Otunba Daniel who was the governor of the state from 2003 to 201, declared that the office, from time to time in collaboration with Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), will bring succour to the people.

The event had in attendance several All Progressives Congress (APC) members who came from the nine local government areas making up the senatorial district, as the aspirant used the opportunity to empower some students of Tai Solarin College of Education with scholarship awards.

Each of the students was presented with N100,000 cheques while wheel chairs were also presented to some physically challenged ones.

Some party coordinators also went home happy, as they were handed the keys of operational vehicles.

The former governor who is eyeing the seat of Ogun East Senatorial District, come next year disclosed that he would certainly use the opportunity of being at the red chamber, if voted in, to bring unfettered development to every nook and cranny of the nine local councils in the senatorial district.

Daniel said, “The inauguration of this Omu-Ajose office of Gateway Movement is about rekindling hope, it’s about selfless service, this is a movement that will bring so much development and ensure that everyone is happy.”

OGD as he is fondly called, in his address lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun for his giant strides across the state, as well as his promise to help reconstruct Omu/Ala Road, urging the people to keep supporting the ruling APC in the state.
