Ogun State Housewife Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Murder Husband by Inflicting Severe Penile Injury
A 28-year-old housewife, Yemisi Adebowale, has been arrested by police in Ogun State for allegedly attempting to murder her husband, Idowu Adebowale, by inflicting a severe injury on his penis. The incident occurred in the Oko-Oba, Ogijo area of the state.
The suspect was taken into custody after her 31-year-old husband reported the incident at the Ogijo police station, claiming that his wife had attacked him with a sharp object during a minor disagreement.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the victim filed the complaint on October 15, 2024, at around 4:30 a.m.
Odutola explained in a statement released on Tuesday in Abeokuta that the victim presented himself to the officers on duty and showed them a cut injury near the tip of his penis.
Following the report, police officers visited the scene and apprehended the suspect, who denied the allegations. However, Yemisi Adebowale was placed in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation.
The police have also provided the victim with a medical form and advised him to seek immediate treatment at a hospital due to the severity of the injury.
