Ogun State has summoned the principal of Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Mrs Fasanya Tolulope, over a viral video of students of the school caught smoking ‘Shisha’ in school uniform.
AGGGS management suspended the students indefinitely after failing to defend themselves before a panel set up by the school management to investigate the incident.
Last week, the video of the four young girls of the school (names withheld because they are minors) showing them while they were seen smoking the Shisha went viral.
It was gathered that one of the girls is a relative of a popular judge (names withheld) in the Ogun State judiciary.
Tension, however, gripped the school on Tuesday Morning when news filtered that the principal had been summoned by the Ogun State Ministry of Education, allegedly for questioning and sanction for daring to suspend the students.
It was later learnt that the principal was only invited to brief the Ministry on the development and the actions taken so far.
Another teacher in the School said to be the students’ supervisor, it was also gathered, was also invited by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
