The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old serial impostor, Victor Cletus, for allegedly defrauding and sexually exploiting a young female victim after posing as a medical doctor.
Cletus, who was later discovered to be a cleaner at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan Remo, had reportedly presented himself as a surgeon to the victim on Snapchat. Police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, disclosed the development in a statement made available to journalists on Friday.
According to Odutola, the victim had approached Cletus after he claimed he could handle a medical concern involving the removal of a lump from her breast. Instead of providing medical assistance, he allegedly sexually abused her and stole money from her Opay account.
The spokesperson explained that the suspect demanded an undisclosed amount as an operation fee and instructed the victim to meet him for a surgical procedure on 18 November 2025. When no medical treatment was carried out and he continued to demand sexual intimacy, the victim became suspicious and contacted the hospital, where she learned that Cletus was not a doctor.
“The suspect is being investigated and will be prosecuted accordingly,” Odutola said.

The command warned the public, especially young females, to exercise caution on social media, where criminals often disguise themselves to lure and exploit unsuspecting victims.
The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, condemned the incident and reiterated the command’s resolve to clamp down on online predators and impostors. He urged young women to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or medical information with strangers online.
The command assured that it remains committed to identifying, arresting, and prosecuting individuals who misuse social media platforms to commit crimes.
