Midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene and forward Gift Monday have made a return to the Super Falcons setup after head coach Justine Madugu released a 25-player squad ahead of this month’s international friendly matches against Cameroon women’s national football team.
The nine-time African champions will take on the Indomitable Lionesses in a two-legged friendly scheduled for February 28 and March 4 in Yaoundé, as part of preparations for upcoming continental assignments.
Okobi-Okeoghene returns to the national team for the first time since featuring at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, while Monday earns a recall after missing the 2024 edition of the tournament staged in Morocco in 2025.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, first-choice goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, as well as attacking duo Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo, were also named in the squad list.
England-based goalkeeper Comfort Erhabor received her maiden invitation to the senior national team, while defender Chidinma Okeke makes a return after a period away from international duty. Midfielder Precious Christopher also secured a first-ever call-up.

The defensive line includes experienced campaigners such as Osinachi Ohale, Michelle Alozie, Oluwatosin Demehin, and Ashleigh Plumptre.
In midfield, Halimatu Ayinde, Christy Ucheibe, Deborah Abiodun, and Jennifer Echegini were included, while forwards Rinsola Babajide and Folashade Ijamilusi also made the cut.
However, six-time African Women’s Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala was notably absent from the squad announced for the fixtures.
The friendly matches form a crucial part of Nigeria’s build-up to the 13th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from March 17 to April 3.
The tournament also carries added significance, as all four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup set to be hosted in Brazil.
