Former governorship flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, has switched allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Ombugadu formally enrolled in the APC on Tuesday, the 3rd of March, 2026, after ending his membership with the PDP.
His exit followed weeks of public speculation about his next political step.
Popularly called Davematics, the former two-term member of the House of Representatives had earlier confirmed his resignation in a letter dated the 28th of February, 2026.

The letter was addressed to the PDP chairman of Ikka Wangibi Ward in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.
With his move to the APC completed, Ombugadu has also unveiled plans to contest the Nasarawa North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
