The Ondo State Government has released ₦2.39 billion for the payment of outstanding gratuities owed to retired civil servants across the state.
The disbursement, which commenced on Monday, October 20, 2025, was confirmed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who said the initiative is part of his administration’s sustained effort to clear accumulated arrears and improve the welfare of senior citizens who served the state diligently.
According to the Ministry of Finance and the Pension Transitional Department, the payment covers retirees who exited the state civil service between 2015 and 2017.
The government explained that the release is structured to address gratuity obligations year by year, ensuring fairness and transparency in the settlement process.

He added that since assuming office, his administration has consistently released funds to defray gratuity arrears across both state and local government levels.
