Only APC Or NDC Can Win 2027 Election — Sam Amadi

Former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, has argued that only two political platforms stand a realistic chance of winning the 2027 presidential election: the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

In his assessment, he dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC), suggesting the party may struggle with internal and legal hurdles that could even affect its participation in the election.

Amadi further described the ADC as lacking a distinct identity, alleging that it closely resembles the APC in structure and political orientation.

He shared his position on Thursday, June 4, in a series of posts on X, where he maintained that Nigeria’s political competition is increasingly consolidating around two major forces.

“In my view, only two parties can win: the ruling Party or the one with Peter Obi. the ruling party and the alternative. So far, ADC is a mini-APC.

“Will @ADCNig be on the ballot? In Nigeria, don’t underestimate the power of a silly suit? For now, ADC members should worry.”

His remarks add to ongoing debates over opposition strength and realignment efforts ahead of the 2027 general election, as political actors continue to reposition across party lines.

The comments come shortly after the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its primaries, which produced President Bola Tinubu as its presidential candidate, while Peter Obi emerged as the flagbearer of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
