Notorious Fulani Warlord, Iskilu Wakili, has revealed how he was apprehended by the members of Oodua People’s Congress and handed to the police.
He said he was sick when he was arrested and that his captors dragged him out of his hut naked, adding that he fainted severally while they were taking him to the police station.
A joint team of Oodua Peoples, Congress, Ibarapa security operatives, Vigilante and other groups, on Sunday arrested Wakili following allegations that he and his gang had been responsible for kidnapping, killing and other atrocities in Ibarapa, Oke Ogun areas of Oyo State.
Police had transferred Wakili to the hospital for treatment shortly after he was handed over to them by his captors.
But speaking with newsmen at the State Criminal Investigation Department at Iyaganku, Ibadan, after being discharged, he denied the allegations levelled against him and claimed that he was once paid millions as a ransom to kidnappers who abducted his children.
Speaking on how he was arrested he said that women in his compound alerted him of the presence of his captors.
“I told them (the women) to run for their lives, but I stayed back, lying down because I was sick and unable to run,” he said.
He added that he was later dragged out his hut naked and taken to the Igboora police.
“I fainted several times before we got there. From the police station, we were moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
“I later learnt that my house had been razed and my son’s wife, called Kande, was shot. She’s lying in the mortuary now.”
