Victor Osimhen is inching closer to a seismic Premier League move, as reports from Turkey claim the Nigerian forward has reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester United.
The 25-year-old goal machine—currently on loan at Galatasaray—has lit up the Süper Lig with an electric campaign, scoring 29 times and adding six assists in just 34 games across all competitions.
Now, with United desperate for firepower, the Red Devils appear to have taken a decisive step toward bringing the striker to Old Trafford.
“Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But there is also the club side of the matter,” Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler revealed during a podcast.
United’s push comes amid growing frustration with current No. 9 Rasmus Højlund, whose underwhelming season—just three goals in the league—has forced new head coach Ruben Amorim to prioritize an elite replacement.
But while personal terms are reportedly agreed—at a staggering £660,000 a week before tax—talks between United and Napoli are ongoing.
Osimhen’s release clause stands at €75 million (£63 million), though some sources suggest Napoli may be willing to offer a discount, recognizing the player’s desire to move and United’s clear interest.
Juventus, longtime admirers of Osimhen, remain in the picture but are unlikely to succeed. Napoli, wary of strengthening a direct rival, would prefer to send their star abroad.

That puts United firmly in the driver’s seat—assuming they can meet Osimhen’s Champions League ambitions.
The striker is reportedly keen to compete at Europe’s top level, making United’s Europa League campaign potentially decisive.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray are hoping for a miracle. The Istanbul giants have covered €6 million of Osimhen’s €10–11 million salary this season, and while he’s become a cult hero at Türk Telekom Arena, their financial muscle may not be enough to keep him.
The club’s vice president, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, remained hopeful but realistic: “He said Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he leaves in the worst-case scenario.”
Osimhen himself has been characteristically elusive about his future: “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now. I am enjoying both the club and my life here.”
Still, Manchester United remain quietly confident. Backup targets like Liam Delap and Jean-Philippe Mateta are reportedly being monitored, but insiders believe this is United’s race to lose.
Should the deal go through, Osimhen would become the highest-paid player at Old Trafford—one more chapter in a meteoric rise from Lagos street football to football royalty.
