Victor Osimhen delivered a commanding performance as Nigeria defeated Algeria 2–0 to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.
After a goalless first half marked by cautious play from both sides, the Super Eagles found their breakthrough two minutes after the restart.
Osimhen struck in the 47th minute, finishing clinically to put Nigeria in front and shift the momentum of the contest.
The Napoli forward then turned provider 10 minutes later, laying on a well-weighted assist for Akor Adams, who calmly converted in the 57th minute to double Nigeria’s advantage and effectively put the tie beyond Algeria’s reach.

Algeria struggled to respond and were left frustrated by Nigeria’s disciplined display, with the Super Eagles controlling proceedings and limiting their opponents to few clear chances.
The victory sends Nigeria into the semi-finals, where they will take on tournament hosts Morocco in what promises to be a highly anticipated showdown.
