Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reduced the 24-hour curfew imposed on Ifon, Ilobu, and Erin Osun communities to 17 hours daily, allowing movement between 7 am and 2 pm.
The curfew adjustment, effective Friday, March 28, follows a review of the violent communal clashes that erupted over a boundary dispute between Ifon and Ilobu last Friday before spreading to Erin Osun.

Announcing the decision in a statement on Friday, March 28, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said the move was to “alleviate the suffering of residents of the three towns and provide an opportunity for them to attend to their immediate needs.”
While acknowledging the reduction in violence, Adeleke condemned reports of another killing despite security measures, noting that “the police have made an arrest.” He warned that “anybody or group of persons found or caught masterminding any violent act will face the full consequences.”
The governor also directed the joint security task force to maintain 24-hour surveillance to prevent further unrest. Additionally, he instructed the state emergency agency to intensify relief efforts for displaced residents.
