The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said on Monday, September 22, that over 5.3 million Nigerians completed online pre-registrations in the fifth week of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).
According to the commission’s weekly statistics, a total of 5,385,060 pre-registrants were captured between September 15 and 21.
Out of this figure, 2,799,844 were females and 2,585,216 were males. Youths aged between 18 and 34 made up the largest share with 3,604,668 entries, while 1,354,274 students also signed up.
INEC added that 114,713 persons with disabilities joined the register during the period.
Osun recorded the highest number of pre-registrants with 578,905, followed by Lagos with 530,180. At the other end, Abia and Enugu had the lowest figures with 4,608 and 2,931 respectively.

Meanwhile, the commission reported that 764,695 Nigerians completed both online and physical registration in Week 4, which covered September 15 to 19.
Of this total, 418,750 were females and 345,945 were males. Youths between 18 and 34 years accounted for 565,927, while students were 279,172. Persons with disabilities who finalised their registration stood at 10,838.
Again, Osun led with 83,284 completed registrations, trailed by Lagos with 37,988. Abia and Enugu recorded the lowest figures with 642 and 426 respectively.
INEC said the steady rise in youth and student participation underscored the growing interest in the electoral process as the nation moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
