She further said, “When I was addressing the press last week, I told them we have received about 80 per cent of our non-sensitive materials.

“We have been doing a lot of training. As I speak, we have started a training for our electoral officers. It’s a technical training. It’s going to end on Friday.

“We have trained persons with disabilities. We have trained all our local government training officers on different things to ensure that during the election, everyone, every individual, performs optimally and in a professional manner.”

The Resident Electoral Commissioner also outlined the next phase of the commission’s preparations.

The REC added, “Next week, Tuesday, we are going to train all electoral security personnel on their role and their code of conduct for the election.

“We will have this training for three days at the state level, and we will have it for three days at the zonal and three senatorial districts simultaneously.

“For recruitment of ad hoc staff, we have opened the portal for recruitment. It’s open, and it will close very shortly.

“We will be recruiting presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, supervisory presiding officers, and RATECs for the election.”

Osun voters are expected to head to the polls on August 15 to elect a new governor, with candidates from 14 political parties contesting the election.
