The Osun State Government has announced partnerships with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) to promote the export of locally made goods to international markets.
Governor Ademola Adeleke disclosed this on Monday in Osogbo, the state capital, while officially opening the 2025 Osun Trade Fair. Speaking on the theme of the event, “Positioning Local Contents for the Global Market,” Adeleke said the collaboration aims to expand market access for Osun-made products and enhance their competitiveness globally.
“We continue to partner with development agencies and private investors to strengthen small and medium enterprises. Osun-made products, including honey, cocoa, garri, adire, black soap, and crafts, already meet global standards. The next step is strong packaging, branding, and export readiness. This is why we work closely with NEPC, NIPC, and other partners to open wider export channels for our producers,” the governor said.
Adeleke added that his administration has established industrial clusters and agro-processing zones to increase production, add value, and position Osun as a leading hub for agro-allied and creative industries in Southwest Nigeria. He commended the Osun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the business community for organising the fair, noting that government-private sector collaboration is key to success.

Speaking earlier, Osun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bunmi Jenyo, said the state is undergoing a systemic repositioning of its commercial and industrial sectors through policies that champion innovation and inclusive growth. He noted that the ministry is actively engaging with the business community to identify challenges and create practical solutions.
The trade fair, open to nano, micro, small and medium enterprises, large-scale business organisations, financial institutions, educational research institutions, and local government areas, aims to promote Osun’s industrial and commercial potentials, showcase locally made products, and attract global investment.
Chairman of the Trade Fair Committee, David Awotipe, explained that the event will also highlight local agriculture, mining, and tourism sectors, providing a platform for businesses to demonstrate their contributions to the state’s economic growth and development.
