The Federal Government has formally charged Chief Mike Ozekhome, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), with fraud, forgery and related offences over a disputed property in London.
The three-count case, numbered FCT/HC/CR/010/26, was filed on January 16, 2026, at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on behalf of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
Court documents allege that the offences occurred in August 2021 and involve Ozekhome’s claim to a residential property at 79 Randall Avenue, London NW2 7SX.
The first count accuses him of unlawfully acquiring the property, which was purportedly gifted to him by an individual named Shani Tali, in a transaction the prosecution describes as fraudulent under the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.
The second count alleges that Ozekhome forged a Nigerian passport, numbered A07535463 and issued in the name of Shani Tali, intending to use it to substantiate his ownership claim.
The third count charges that he knowingly presented the passport as genuine to support the property claim despite being aware of its falsity, in violation of the Penal Code of the Federal Capital Territory.

Prosecutors have listed several witnesses, including investigators and immigration officials, and said evidence to be presented will include tribunal rulings, passport records and other official documents.
As of time of report, a trial date had not been scheduled and Ozekhome’s plea had not been recorded.
The case follows a ruling by the UK First-Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) on September 11, 2025, which held that the London property belonged to the estate of the late retired Lieutenant-General Jeremiah Useni, dismissing Ozekhome’s competing claim due to evidence of fraud, impersonation and forged documents.
