Paris FC Reach Agreement with Nantes for Moses Simon Transfer

Newly promoted Ligue 1 side, Paris FC, are closing in on a significant signing as they’ve reportedly reached a deal with FC Nantes for Nigerian winger, Moses Simon.

According to Foot Mercato, the capital-based outfit, who will be playing in the French top flight for the first time in 46 years, have agreed to a transfer fee of €7 million to land the 29-year-old forward.

Simon had long been on Paris FC’s radar as they seek to bolster their attack ahead of their historic Ligue 1 campaign.

An earlier €5 million bid was rejected by Nantes, but Paris returned with an improved offer that appears to have met the demands of Les Canaris.

Since arriving in Nantes in 2020, Simon has become an integral part of the squad.

He played a crucial role in helping the team avoid relegation on multiple occasions and was instrumental in their Coupe de France triumph in 2022, where they beat OGC Nice to claim the club’s fourth title. He also featured in the final again in 2023.

Last season, Simon registered 8 goals and 10 assists in Ligue 1, helping Nantes finish 13th on the table, six points clear of relegation.

Over his five-year stint at the club, he made 201 appearances, scored 37 goals, and provided 42 assists.

Despite interest from Rennes, Marseille, and English Premier League side Everton, Paris FC appear to have won the race for the Super Eagles star, with final details expected to be wrapped up in the coming days.

Simon’s experience and attacking flair are expected to provide a major boost for Paris FC as they prepare for life in Ligue 1 after nearly five decades in the lower divisions.
