The Chief Tom Ikimi-led National Disciplinary Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, and 10 others over allegations of anti-party activities.

Ikimi, who chairs the committee, revealed that the panel recently convened to review five petitions, some targeting prominent members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The committee, operating under Section 57(1) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), decided to step down three petitions related to NWC members in support of ongoing reconciliation efforts led by the Governors’ Forum and Board of Trustees.

However, petitions concerning Ortom, Anyanwu, and 10 others were advanced. They have been summoned to appear before the committee on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Legacy House in Maitama, Abuja.

The committee has issued notices to all parties involved, including petitioners and witnesses.

It reaffirmed its commitment to party discipline and integrity and urged members with genuine grievances to follow the proper procedures.

In response, Ortom, through his Media Adviser Nathaniel Ikyur, stated: “I’ve not received any invitation. When I receive it, I will honor it. I cannot act based on posts on social media. There are people who should also appear.”
