Peter Obi Commends Police Swift Arrests After Kano Family Murders

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has commended the Nigeria Police Force for the swift arrest of suspects linked to the gruesome killing of a housewife and her six children in Kano State, describing the tragedy as a painful wound on the nation’s conscience.

In a statement posted on his X account on Sunday, Obi expressed deep sorrow over the horrific crime, noting that the incident has left many Nigerians heartbroken and in mourning.

While acknowledging the gravity of the loss, the former Anambra State governor praised the police for their prompt and decisive response, saying it demonstrated the effectiveness that law enforcement agencies can achieve when adequately mobilised and focused.

“I would like to commend the Nigerian Police for their swift action in apprehending the criminals,” Obi said, urging the security agencies to replicate such efficiency in tackling other serious crimes, including kidnapping and banditry, which continue to plague many parts of the country.

He noted that consistent, decisive policing would significantly reduce criminal activities and restore public confidence in the nation’s security architecture.
