Peter Obi to Rebuild Agulu Primary School, Work Begins January 2026

Former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has pledged to rebuild the Practising Nursery and Primary School in Agulu, Anaocha LGA, destroyed by fire in December 2024.

Reconstruction is scheduled to begin in January 2026, giving pupils a safe and proper place to learn after nearly a year of makeshift classes under exposed conditions.

Headmistress Eucharia Egwuonwu described the past months as “challenging and unsafe,” noting that students and teachers have struggled to continue learning in temporary shelters vulnerable to rain and sun.

During a recent visit, Obi assured the community that the new facility would be “a befitting place for the children to grow and learn,” emphasizing that education is a cornerstone of community development.

Obi’s pledge provides relief not only to students and parents but also to the wider community.

Obi also donated ₦30 million to two nursing colleges in Anambra, ₦15 million each to the College of Nursing Sciences, Adazi‑Nnukwu, and UNTH Iyi‑Enu College of Nursing Sciences, underscoring his ongoing support for healthcare and frontline worker training.
