The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has admitted that her office failed to carry out adequate due diligence before approving recruitment requests linked to the unverified organisation PFIPC, acknowledging the oversight as a major vetting lapse.
Speaking on the development on Wednesday, Walson-Jack accepted responsibility for the error, saying the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation relied on documents that were not independently verified before issuing recruitment approvals for the PEAC/PFIPC.
“We ought to have carried out more due diligence,” she said, admitting that the approvals were granted based on unverified documentation.
The admission follows growing scrutiny over the recruitment process involving the organisation, with concerns raised about the authenticity of the entity and the procedures followed before official approvals were issued.
