Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded major successes against terrorist elements in the North East following a series of coordinated operations that led to heavy terrorist casualties, recovery of arms, and the disruption of enemy strongholds.
In a well-planned night attack carried out on 28 January 2026, troops of Sector 1 OPHK struck terrorist positions at Bula Dalo.
During the fierce engagement, more than 12 terrorists were neutralised, forcing surviving fighters to flee in disarray.
The Media Information Office, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East, Lt. Sani Uba, made this known in a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page on Friday.
According to the store, the troops also recovered a significant cache of weapons, including four AK-47 rifles, one PKT anti-aircraft gun, one rocket-propelled gun, and one multiple grenade launcher.
In a separate operation, Sector 1 troops advanced on a terrorist camp at Garno, where six more terrorists were neutralised.
The operation resulted in the destruction of several terrorist life-support structures and the recovery of a large quantity of PKT anti-aircraft ammunition, further degrading the group’s combat capability.
Meanwhile, troops of Sector 2 OPHK at Sabon Gari were confronted with an early-morning attack by ISWAP terrorists, who employed multiple armed drones in support of their assault.
Although the attackers briefly breached part of the defensive position, gallant troops swiftly regrouped, repelled the assault, and restored full control of the area with timely reinforcement from nearby units.

The military, however, suffered losses during the encounter, as some soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) paid the supreme price while defending the location.
An excavator and a low-bed vehicle were also damaged during the armed drone attack.
Exploitation of the area is ongoing as troops continue operations to deny terrorists freedom of action.
The sustained operations underscore the resolve of Operation Hadin Kai to maintain firm control of the North East and to relentlessly pursue terrorist elements threatening peace and security in the region.
