PHOTOS: One Injured as NEMA Contains Fire Outbreak in Abuja Plaza

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has responded to a fire incident that occurred at Cue Bar Plaza, located on Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent in Wuse 2, Abuja, on Friday.

NEMA disclosed this in a post on its X handle, stating that the Abuja Operations office, alongside the FCT Fire Service and the Federal Fire Service teams, were deployed to the scene to contain the fire.

The fire, which is said to have originated in a spa within the plaza, rapidly spread to an adjacent establishment. As a result, an unidentified individual suffered a limb fracture and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

The post read, “At approximately 10:50 a.m. on Friday, 16th May 2025, the Abuja Operations Office of the Agency received an alert regarding a fire outbreak at Cue Bar Plaza, located opposite Zenith Bank on Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.

“The FCT Fire Service was promptly activated, and a response team was deployed to the scene.

“Preliminary information revealed that the fire originated from a spa within the building and spread to an adjacent facility.

“One individual sustained a limb fracture and was evacuated to the hospital for treatment. Response teams from NEMA Headquarters, NEMA Abuja Operations Office, FCT Fire Service, and the Federal Fire Service were present at the scene.

“The fire was successfully extinguished, and the operation has been concluded. The premises have been handed over to the Maitama Division of the Nigeria Police for further security.”
