Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network in Borno State, arresting six suspects and recovering a large consignment of materials believed to be intended for terrorist groups operating in the North-East.
The operation, conducted at about 4 p.m. on July 19, 2026, followed credible intelligence on the movement of supplies along a suspected terrorist logistics route.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Acting Military Information Officer, l Capt. Mohammed Goni, troops mounted an intelligence-led stop-and-search operation that led to the arrest of six suspected logistics suppliers travelling in five vehicles.
The military said the suspects were intercepted while transporting materials believed to be destined for terrorist elements.
Recovered during the operation were 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, a Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
According to the military, preliminary assessments indicate that the items have potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, mobility, communications and sustainment.
It added that the recovered fertiliser and suspected acid would undergo technical and forensic examination to determine whether they were intended for the manufacture of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The Army described the seizure as a major disruption of a suspected terrorist supply chain, noting that it would further degrade the operational capabilities of terrorist groups in the region.
The six suspects and all recovered exhibits have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for a comprehensive investigation aimed at identifying the intended recipients, dismantling the wider logistics network and apprehending other collaborators and sponsors.

Operation HADIN KAI also disclosed that preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered families of former terrorists indicate that sustained military operations targeting terrorist logistics have significantly weakened insurgent groups.
The military stated that persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment and other essential materials have forced many terrorists to abandon their camps, families and hostages while fleeing sustained military offensives.
The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations against terrorists, their financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators to deny them the resources needed to sustain their activities.
It also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements and activities, describing public cooperation as critical to the success of ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the restoration of lasting peace in the North-East.
