Women gathered at the private residence of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari to pray while others were seen consoling with the late president’s daughter Fatima.
In an emotional show of solidarity, the women sat in organised rows within and around the compound, reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an in low, steady tones.
Many clutched prayer beads, their faces reflecting both grief and reverence for the late leader.

Security around the residence was visibly tight. Personnel from the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Department of State Services (DSS) were stationed across key points in the area.
Access roads leading to the compound had been barricaded since the early hours, with operatives controlling movement and maintaining order as mourners continued to stream in.
