Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has hosted the captain of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong, on a courtesy visit.
According to a statement on Sanwo-Olu’s X handle, the duo spoke on issues bordering on the future of football and the power of sports to inspire a new generation.
The governor in his statement further disclosed that Troost-Ekong is focused on lifting the AFCON 2025 trophy, qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, and his long-term goals of giving back, building, and uplifting others.
The 31 years old is a professional footballer who also plays as a centre-back for Saudi Pro League club Al-Kholood.
Sanwo-Olu wrote, “Today, I received the captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong, on a courtesy visit.
“We spoke about football, the future, and the power of sports to inspire a new generation.
