PICTORIAL: Troops Kill Scores, Arrest Terrorists Logistics Suppliers In Borno, Yobe

Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have recorded significant operational gains in the ongoing fight against insurgency, neutralising terrorists, foiling attacks, and dismantling logistics networks across the region.

The military disclosed that the successes were achieved during coordinated operations conducted between March 31 and April 4, 2026, targeting fighters linked to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Media Information Officer, Col. Sani Uba on Sunday night.

In one of the major breakthroughs, troops under Sector 2, deployed in Geidam, Yobe State, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged suspected terrorist logistics suppliers following actionable intelligence.

A fierce firefight ensued, resulting in the neutralisation of three insurgents and the disabling of a vehicle laden with supplies.

Items recovered included foodstuffs, mobile phones, and other materials believed to be destined for terrorist enclaves.

Similarly, along the Konduga–Kawuri axis in Borno State, troops ambushed insurgents attempting to plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The encounter led to an explosion that killed two of the attackers, while troops recovered weapons and ammunition during follow-up operations.

In a separate counter-IED effort, soldiers discovered and safely detonated another explosive device planted along the Ngoshe–Pulka road, averting potential civilian casualties.

Operations in Adamawa State also yielded results. In Mubi North Local Government Area, troops under Sector 4, working alongside local hunters, arrested three suspected members of Boko Haram/ISWAP.

One of the suspects reportedly confessed to gathering intelligence on troop movements and participating in recent attacks against security forces.

The suspects remain in custody for further investigation.

In another operation at Mainok market, troops apprehended three individuals suspected of supplying logistics to terrorist groups.

Recovered items included livestock, communication devices, and cash, further weakening the insurgents’ supply chain.

Meanwhile, in Yobe State, troops intercepted a vehicle conveying suspected terrorists.

Two occupants were found with gunshot wounds consistent with earlier clashes with security forces.

They were arrested alongside communication equipment and are currently under investigation.

Additional arrests were made across the theatre, including suspected informants and collaborators attempting to move across borders, as well as a foreign national apprehended at a checkpoint under suspicious circumstances.

The military noted that troops have maintained sustained pressure on insurgent elements, limiting their operational freedom across the North-East.

It added that all missions were executed without incident, with personnel demonstrating high morale and professionalism.

The High Command commended the troops for their resilience and urged them to sustain the tempo of operations in order to enhance security and stability in the region.
