During the ensuing firefight, one terrorist was killed while troops recovered seven motorcycles believed to have been used by the group.

In a separate operation on June 6, troops responded to a terrorist attack on Anguwar Sarkin Musulmi village in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

The military said the attackers fled into nearby bushes after troops engaged them.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the assailants had stolen personal belongings from residents before security forces arrived.

The military described the incident as another sign of the growing pressure on terrorist groups whose logistics and sources of support have increasingly been disrupted by sustained operations.

On the same day, troops also responded to reports of an attack on commuters along the Kaura Namoda–Zurmi Road. Investigations revealed that terrorists ambushed two civilian vehicles between Jabanda and Dauran villages in Zurmi Local Government Area.
