Afrobeats sensation Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has made history by setting a new record for the most streams in a single day on Spotify Nigeria.
His latest track, “Piece of My Heart,” featuring American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz, became the first song to surpass one million streams on the platform in Nigeria.
With an impressive 1.016 million streams within just 24 hours, Nigeria joins the ranks as the 22nd country to witness a track cross the million-stream mark on its local Spotify chart in a day.
Globally, “Piece of My Heart” debuted at number 90 on the Global Spotify Chart, amassing 1.7 million streams.
The track’s total first-day streams reached 2.27 million worldwide, earning it the title of the biggest streaming debut for any African artist in Spotify’s history.
