Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, is reportedly being held on remand in the United Kingdom and is due before Snaresbrook Crown Court in London on September 15, 2026, over an alleged assault.
Benjamin Kuti, founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom and known as the Oluomo of Derby, confirmed the development on Monday, August 24.
Kuti said Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and would appear at 10am for a plea hearing, where he is expected to indicate whether he will plead guilty or not guilty.
He said he planned to attend the proceedings and urged the public to allow the legal process to run its course, noting that the dancer remained innocent unless proven guilty.

Reports of Poco Lee’s alleged detention surfaced online on August 19, but details of the complainant, circumstances of the alleged incident and specific charge were initially unclear.
While some early reports described the allegation as sexual in nature, Kuti has characterised the matter as an alleged assault.
The precise allegation has not been publicly detailed and Poco Lee has not publicly commented on the reported case.
The September 15 hearing is expected to shed further light on the case and determine its next procedural step.
He remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court.
