The management team of Nigerian dancer and entertainer Poco Lee has denied claims linking “drink spiking” to his ongoing legal case in the United Kingdom.
In a public notice dated August 25, 2026, the management said the claims circulating on social media were not part of the allegations or charges before the UK court.
The team expressed concern over what it described as the spread of unverified narratives surrounding the case, warning that introducing details outside the actual court proceedings could fuel misinformation and unfairly prejudice the parties involved.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking’, among other allegations, which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the management said.
It urged members of the public and media organisations to refrain from presenting unverified claims as part of the case, stressing the importance of allowing the judicial process to run its course.
“We ask the public and media to desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, as doing so only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved,” the statement added.
The management also reminded the public that allegations made against an individual should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of wrongdoing.
“Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process,” it stated.
The statement comes amid growing public interest in the legal matter involving Poco Lee, with discussions surrounding the case generating significant attention online.
His management appealed for restraint in public commentary, particularly where claims have not been established through the court process.
The team maintained that the appropriate place for determining the facts of the matter remains the court and urged the public to avoid spreading information that could interfere with or prejudice the ongoing proceedings.
It further stressed the importance of respecting due process and the principle that an accused person remains entitled to a fair hearing until the court reaches a determination.
The management’s clarification is expected to help separate verified information contained in the court proceedings from claims circulating across social media as the legal process continues in the United Kingdom.
