Police in Ondo State have arrested a 45-year-old trader, Akinyemi Akinrotoye, for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter.
The suspect was arrested by policemen from the Enu-Owa Police Division in Ondo town, Ondo West Local Government Area.
Akinrotoye was arrested after a teacher at Saint Peter’s Primary School in Ondo town, where the victim was a student, reported a case of child abuse to the police, it was learnt.
The suspect is said to have been defiling the daughter for over one year at his residence on Okelisa street, Ondo town.
The victim said she had been living with her father since she was six years old, and after the death of her mother.
