The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a pastor, Edwin Nwabueze, and his alleged accomplice, Sadiq Jamiu, over their involvement in an interstate vehicle theft syndicate.

The suspects were arrested following investigations into the theft of a Toyota Camry at UTC Plaza, in the Garki District of Abuja.

The stolen vehicle was also recovered by police operatives.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.

Adeh said Nwabueze, who hails from Oji River, Enugu State, but resides in Benue State, identified himself as a pastor with Salvation Power Bible Ministry, located in the North Bank area of the state.

She said the principal suspect was arrested at his residence on October 27 following sustained investigations and subsequently led operatives to another location where Jamiu was apprehended.

According to the police, preliminary investigations have linked Nwabueze to previous arrests by the Benue State Police Command over alleged vehicle theft cases.
