The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old woman, Jessica Anthony, for allegedly plotting to have her boyfriend robbed by suspected armed robbers.
The arrest was made on Thursday, January 22, 2026.
Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe disclosed on his official X handle that the suspect contacted individuals she believed to be armed robbers and asked them to rob her boyfriend of his valuables.
According to the police, Jessica admitted that she orchestrated the plot in a bid to raise money for her sister’s medical treatment, which she said would cost about N7 million.

She told investigators she specifically targeted her boyfriend’s gold jewellery, intending to resell it for cash.
The plot was uncovered after the boyfriend became aware of the plan and alerted the police, leading to her arrest.
The command said investigations are ongoing and the suspect will be charged to court.
