The Nigeria Police Force has condemned a viral video showing armed police officers trailing Nollywood actress Angela Okorie while she jogged.

The Force described the officers’ conduct as “clearly inconsistent with the professional standards and decorum expected” of police personnel.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, and shared on the Nigeria Police Facebook page on Wednesday.

First News correspondent learnt that the incident which appears to have taken place on or around a movie set has raised widespread public concern and criticism.

“While it remains unclear whether the scene was part of a scripted production, the conduct of the officers seen in the video falls short of the standards expected of members of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement read.

The Force noted that administrative processes have already commenced to identify the officers involved and determine the full circumstances surrounding the video.

“Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the outcome of the review,” Adejobi added.

The Nigeria Police reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the preservation of public trust, stating that such displays undermine the integrity of the Force and the confidence reposed in its personnel by the public.
