Deputy Inspector General of Police, Joseph Egbunike, who was overseeing the Force Criminal Investigation Department, has died.
According to information gathered, Egbunike was confirmed dead on Tuesday after he fell in his office, in Abuja.
DIG Egbunike who is from Onitsha, Anambra State, was until his sudden and tragic death, in charge of the Investigation Panel constituted by Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to bring to light the money laundering allegations against the suspended head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Abba Kyari.
The details of the incident is still very much complicated. It was gathered that Egbunike had always met his doctor for a medical check up after feeling sick.
Few minutes after he was administered drugs, the senior officer, who was said to have gone to the office in company of family members, in his usual bubbling self, slumped and died.
