Police Extend Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement Deadline to October 2

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced a further extension of the grace period for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit regulation, moving the new enforcement date to October 2, 2025.

In a statement issued on Monday, Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the decision, approved by Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, follows a surge in applications through the official portal, possap.gov.ng.

Adejobi explained that the extension would allow the Force to meticulously review applications to ensure that permits are issued only to qualified individuals, in line with national security considerations.

The police also said the additional time would help fine-tune both digital and physical verification processes to safeguard the integrity of the permit system and prevent abuse.

“The authorized platform for application remains possap.gov.ng. Members of the public should disregard any unofficial channels,” the statement read.

Citizens have been urged to report any cases of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the Police via the hotline 0814 781 8871.

The NPF appreciated the public’s cooperation and reiterated its commitment to balancing convenience with strong security measures.
