…denies reported kidnap of 18 bus passengers
Oyo State police command on Thursday paraded 33 suspects for criminal offences ranging from kidnap, sodomy, and other related vices.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the command’s headquarters at Eleyele, Ibadan, the Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko said the suspects were arrested at different locations across the state.
Onadeko, who denied a reported kidnap of 18 bus passengers along Eruwa-Igboora road, in Ibarapa axis early Thursday morning, enjoined people to always filter every news before spreading it.
She solicited the support of the people in her efforts to rid the state of crime and criminality.
According to her, “People should give us credible information that will enable us to nip crime and criminality in the bud in the state.”
In a related development, a 30-year old classroom teacher, Mr. Ebenezer Olawuyi, has allegedly confessed to the crime of sodomy levelled against him.
He confessed to the crime of sleeping with two male pupils whose ages range between 12 and 13 years.
The Ogbomoso-born teacher said the first incident happened at the premises of his former school while he invited the latest victim to his home to help collate examination scripts.
He said:”It was just two times I did it. They are my students. I had sex through the anus with one of the two of my students on different occasions. I don’t have a wife. I am a private primary school teacher. I called the last victim to my house to help me collate scripts”.
He said he was used to watching pornography but regretted committing the offense.
Onadeko, said the suspects would be charged to court.
