Kampala police have launched a full-scale investigation into the killing of Diana Namulinde, a 24-year-old social media content creator and businesswoman, whose body was discovered in her apartment in Kyanja, Kawempe Division, sparking shock and grief across Uganda’s online community.
Namulinde, popularly known to her followers as Diana Skys, was found dead on February 4, 2026, a day after she was reportedly attacked in her residence located in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward. Friends who went to check on her after failing to reach her discovered her apartment door open and raised the alarm.
Confirming the incident, Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said the killing occurred on the night of February 3, while the deceased was alone at home. He disclosed that homicide detectives and scene-of-crime officers were immediately deployed to document the scene, recover exhibits, and take statements from potential witnesses.
Preliminary police findings indicate that Namulinde was strangled in what investigators suspect to be an aggravated robbery. A security guard attached to the premises was arrested as the first suspect after being found in possession of items believed to have been stolen from the deceased. Police have since identified three suspects in connection with the crime, with two currently in custody to aid ongoing investigations.
