Police Probe Passenger for Shouting ‘Death to America, Death to Trump, Allahu Akbar’ Mid-Air

Police Scotland are investigating a disturbing incident aboard an easyJet flight from London Luton Airport to Glasgow after a passenger sparked panic mid-air by shouting alarming threats and religious phrases.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, July 27, when a 41-year-old man began yelling, “Stop the plane. Find the bomb on the plane. Death to America. Death to Trump,” followed by repeated shouts of “Allahu Akbar.”

In a video seen by First Daily correspondent on Monday, passengers took swift action, with one man tackling him near row 21 and another helping to restrain the suspect.

In the viral footage shared on social media, some passengers demanded to know his motives and started searching him thoroughly.

A woman was heard urging a search of the man’s body, while someone questioned him directly: “Why did you say you wanted to bomb this plane?” Passengers also retrieved his wallet and ID.

Upon landing at Glasgow Airport around 8:20 a.m., the aircraft was met by Police Scotland officers, who arrested and charged the man.

He is scheduled to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, July 28.

The statement on Police Scotland’s X handle read, “We were called to a report of a man causing a disturbance on a flight arriving into Glasgow… We believe the incident to be contained, and that no other individuals were involved. Videos circulating online are being reviewed by counter-terrorism officers.”

Video clips also captured moments following the arrest, with an officer asking the man if he would remain calm.

The suspect replied, “I’m calm now.” When he requested his phone and wallet, irritated passengers shouted expletives in response.

An easyJet spokesperson in a separate statement on Sunday said, “Flight EZY609 from Luton to Glasgow this morning was met by police on arrival, who removed a passenger due to their behaviour during the flight.

“Our crew are trained to handle such incidents to ensure the safety of everyone onboard.

“The safety and well-being of our customers and crew are always our top priority.”
