Police rescue 11 kidnapped victims in Zamfara

Zamfara State Police Command in association with the state government’s Peace Committee, on Sunday, June 6, 2021, facilitated the release of 11 kidnapped victims who were abducted on June 4 near Wanzama village, on Gusau-Zaria Road in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The victims, who are natives of Katsina State, were abducted by suspected bandits, while returning from marketing activities in Gummi LGA in a J5 bus with number plate DMS 06 XA.

A statement made available to FirstNews by the Police Public Relation Officer in the state, SP Shehu Mohammed, noted that the victims were taken to the forest by their abductors when police operatives in association with the state government Peace Committee and some repentant bandits swung into action and rescued all the victims hale and hearty.

The statement added that all the kidnapped victims were medically checked by the government medical team before being debriefed and reunited with their families by the police respectively.
