The Anambra State Police Command has launched a search for a missing three-year-old boy, Master Chimaobi Nwadike, who was reportedly abducted by an unidentified woman in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.
Police spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday, September 29, 2025. He disclosed that the child was taken on September 26 while in the custody of his mother.
“The Anambra State Police Command seeks assistance from members of the public, especially residents of Anambra State, regarding a case of child stealing that occurred on September 26, 2025, at Obosi, Idemili North LGA,” Ikenga said.
According to the preliminary report, the unidentified woman fled with the boy after seizing an opportunity when the child’s mother was momentarily distracted.

The police have appealed to anyone with useful information about the whereabouts of the victim or the suspect to immediately report to the nearest police station or contact the Command’s emergency lines.
“The Command is calling on anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of the child or the suspect to kindly report to the nearest police station or call the Command’s emergency numbers,” the statement added.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant while investigations continue into the whereabouts of the missing child.
