Pope Francis’ Health Condition Remains Critical Amid Hospitalization

Pope Francis, who has been hospitalized since February 14 due to pneumonia, remains in critical condition but is stable, according to the Vatican’s latest update on Monday.

The Holy See Press Office confirmed that the 88-year-old pontiff had a restful night and is currently under close medical observation at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome.

The statement emphasized that while his condition remains serious, there has been no further respiratory distress. “The night passed well, the Pope slept and is resting,” the Vatican disclosed, marking the 11th day of his hospital stay—the longest of his papacy.

Despite his health struggles, Pope Francis continues to remain engaged.

On Sunday, he participated in a private Holy Mass in his hospital apartment, alongside his medical team and caregivers.

Reports indicate that he had experienced breathing difficulties during meetings on February 14 before being taken to the hospital for urgent medical care.

The Vatican has reassured the public that Pope Francis is alert and oriented, and his doctors are closely monitoring his recovery.

As he remains under treatment, the Catholic world continues to pray for his swift recuperation.
