Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has been captured in a viral video showing off his multi-million naira mansion in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The clip, sighted by First Daily on Tuesday, the 12th of August, 2025, featured Adelabu inside the white, tastefully furnished home alongside a group of his supporters.
Adelabu currently heads a power sector grappling with numerous hurdles, including a liquidity crisis, erratic electricity supply, repeated grid collapses, disputed tariff structures, affordability issues, and outdated infrastructure.

He recently disclosed that the federal government’s outstanding debt to electricity generation companies had reached N4 trillion by the close of 2024.
A World Bank report released in June 2025, Tracking Sustainable Development Goal SDG7: The Energy Progress Report 2025, ranked Nigeria as the country with the largest number of people lacking electricity access, 86.8 million citizens.
