Presidential race: My ministerial assignment priority for now -Aregbesola

Interior Minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has disclosed that his main concern now are the enormous tasks in the ministry, with determination to fulfil the agenda set by his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari.

His special consultant on security matters, Dr. Dipo Okeyomi, conveyed the minister’s message in a chat with First News.

Okeyomi said Aregbesola was surprised by growing rumour that he would soon join the presidential race, noting that such was only an attempt to distract him.

“Ogbeni Aregbesola was taken by surprise with the growing rumour that he was planning to join the presidential race.

“While he is pre-eminently qualified to vie for the office, the minister is of the conviction that he is for now focused on the enormous tasks set before him at the Interior Ministry, as he is determined to fulfil the agenda of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration.”

Okeyomi also quoted the minister as saying the relationship between him and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remained cordial, urging those he described as the fifth columnists to keep their peace.
