Priscilla Ojo Shares Juma Jux’s Store Was Looted, Not Burnt

Priscilla Ojo has spoken up following online claims that her Tanzanian husband, Juma Jux, lost his store in the recent protests that rocked the country.

The protests erupted on Thursday after citizens marched over alleged issues from the presidential election held a day earlier.

Tension escalated after President Samia Hassan’s two major opponents were excluded from the ballot, a move that drew public outrage and concerns from rights groups.

These groups have also accused the government of clamping down on opposition voices, activists, and journalists.

Amid the chaos, a post by an X user, Bolaji Fesomade, went viral.
Fesomade claimed that protesters set Jux’s store on fire, describing it as “valued at a staggering $780 million.”

The post also read: “Reports from Tanzania say singer Juma Jux’s store, worth over $780 million has been set ablaze and completely destroyed by protesters. The violence erupted after yesterday’s tense presidential election which sparked chaos and unrest across several parts of the country.”

The duo made their relationship public in July 2024, they held their wedding ceremonies in Lagos and Dar es Salaam in 2025, and welcomed their first child Rakeem in August.
